Mary Evelyn Brown

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Brown, age 84, of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospice House. Born on May 3, 1925 in Hickory, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late J.C. and Irene Wessinger. Mrs. Brown was retired from Brown Drafting Service and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jefferson Brown; and her sister, Margaret Lunsford. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Beth Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Ware; grandchildren, CJ Brown, Natalie Peterson, and John Kelly Ware; great-grandchildren, Madeline Scott and Brooke Peterson; and nieces, Maggie Edens and Linda Cheek. Several other relatives and friends also survive. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2PM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday evening at Hicks Funeral Home and from 1-2PM Tuesday just prior to the service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Flowers will be accepted. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mary Evelyn Brown.
