Mary Frances Payne Mason

Mary Frances Payne Mason, 79, of Jacksonville, Florida, wife of Roy Mason, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at Community Hospice House in Jacksonville. Mrs. Mason was born in Royston, April 22, 1933, to the late Carl and Grace Briscoe Payne. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired phone operator for AT&T. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Roy Mason of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Glenda Fields of Elberton; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Pam Fields and Nancy Fields Lunsford; and a sister, Hester Payne Farmer. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 3PM Thursday, September 20, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The Mason family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8PM Wednesday evening. Flowers will be accepted.
