Mrs. Mary Ann Dickerson Jones, 73, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Friday morning, September 13, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Jones was born in Bowman, Georgia to the late Bodie and Vanna Beggs Dickerson.She was the beloved wife of Robert Jones, with whom she had celebrated 57 years of marriage.Mary Ann retired from Autolite, and was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church.She was a loving wife and mother, and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her whole heart. In addition to her husband, Robert Jones, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tami and David Thornton, and a son, Tim Jones, all of Elberton;her grandchildren, C.J. Brown (Hannah), River Jones (fiancé Kayla Perry), and Hunter Jones; andtwo great-grandchildren, Rielyn Brown and Colton Brown.She also leaves behind a brother, Sammy Dickerson (Gail) of Elberton; and four sisters, Jackie Thompson (Lamar) and Anna Turner, all of Elberton, Miriam Stephens and Nita Nash, both of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Dickerson, Bobby Dickerson, and James Edward Dickerson; and three sisters, Margaret Jordan, Lavonia Turner, and Opal Dickerson. A service to celebrate Mrs. Jones’ life was held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Victory Baptist Church in Dewy Rose, with Bro. Sean Baughman, Bro. Danny Edwards, and Bro. Kevin Wade officiating. Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park with River Jones, Hunter Jones, Silas Baughman, Levi Baughman, C.J. Brown, and Brandon Scarborough serving as pallbearers. A time of visitation was held on Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home in Elberton. Flowers were graciously accepted, and memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Ramp Ministry, 132 Heard St., Elberton, GA 30635. Arrangements for Mrs. Mary Ann Dickerson Jones were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
