Mrs. Mary Tucker "Ma Mary" Maxwell, 92, of Elberton, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Maxwell was born in Washington, Georgia on March 25, 1921, to the late Shelton Tucker and the late Almeta Tucker Mann. She was married to the love of her life, the late Thomas Frank "Pa Tot" Maxwell. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elberton and a long time member of the Friendship Sunday School Class where she served many years as the class secretary. She was a dedicated bookkeeper at Allen Granite Company where she retired after 36 years of service. She was devoted to her family and left behind a lifetime of wonderful memories. Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her daughter, Linda Maxwell Paul and her husband Elliott of Elberton; grandchildren, Jill Paul McElroy and her husband Sam, Jan Paul Walters and her husband James, and Bob Paul; four great-grandchildren, Nick Fleischer and his wife Jessica, Nathan Walters, Jilly Walters, and Luke McElroy; and two great-great-grandchildren, Shiloh Fleischer and Rob Fleischer. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thompson H. Mann. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home of Elberton. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 28 at 2:00 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Scott and the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Interment follows at Forest Hills Memorial Park with Bob Paul, Nick Fleischer, Nathan Walters, Luke McElroy, James Walters, and Sam McElroy serving as pallbearers.
