Mary Nell Moore

Mary Nell Pitts Moore, 72, of 1749 Pleasant Hill Road, Elberton, died on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Born on August 23, 1937 in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Hughes Pitts and Paulene Hale Pitts. She was a member of Elberton Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Ms. Moore is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy “Jimbo” Coker. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Penelope and Grant Bruce of Elberton and Paula Moore of Sarasota, Fl.; sons and daughter-in-law, William Scott “Scotty” Coker of Elberton and Jeffrey and Rosemary Coker of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.; son/grandson, Blaze Bruce of the home; grandchildren, Mariell Coker, Doug Coker, Kayla Coker Black, Jeffrey Coker, Jr., and Jackson Coker; and great-grandson, Matthew Douglas Coker. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11AM from the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday night at Hicks Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home, 1749 Pleasant Hill Road in Elberton. Flowers will be accepted. Pallbearers will include Stacey Lutz Rayle, Juli Dickerson Miller, Kira Chatham Swygert, Sarah House Baston, Russell Lutz, Lawson Yeargin, Terry Mincey, and Virgil Saxon.
