Mary Sue Peeples Strickland

Mrs. Mary Sue Peeples Strickland, 76, of Rice Creek Road, Canon, wife of the late Walter Strickland, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Strickland was born in Hartwell on June 26, 1945, daughter of the late Doyle Ray Peeples and Daisy Mae Woods Peeples. She was a seamstress having retired from Oxford Manufacturing and enjoyed attending yard sales, antiques, and junkin’.

Survivors include her son, Walter Terry Strickland of Canon; siblings: Harvey Peeples of Royston, Darlene Stoyle of Bowersville, Emma Dowell of Royston, and Betty Jean Crocker of Hartwell; grandchildren; Brittany Palmer, Brandy Stanley, Summer Strickland Garret Strickland, and Corey Strickland; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Marie Strickland; and siblings: Katie Myerholtz, R.C. Brake, Peggy Lawrence, Otis Peeples, and Jack Donald Peeples.

She will be laid to rest during a private ceremony at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
