Mary Ann Williams

Ms. Mary Ann Smallwood Williams, 68, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at her daughter’s home. A native of LaGrange, Georgia, Ms. Williams was the daughter of the late Hanley Talton and Cora Fowler Smallwood.She worked throughout her life in the textile industry. Ms. Williams is survived by two children: Robert Bradley and his wife, Gina, of Tignall, and Gina Witcher and her husband, Bo, of Elberton;three grandchildren: Kason Bradley, Brittany Nolan, and Brandon Witcher; and two great-grandchildren, Rylan Nolan and Braxton Bradley.She also leaves behind three sisters: Peggy Ware, Marie Willingham, and Margaret Simmons; two brothers, Charles Smallwood and Leonard Knight; and numerous other relatives. Mary Ann had a special love for pet Chihuahua, PeeWee. In addition to her parents, Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her siblings: Betty Ann Nix, Martha Allred, Sarah Grimes, Johnny Smallwood, James Smallwood, Bob Smallwood, and Junior Kirkland. A service to celebrate Ms. Williams’ life was held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 3:45 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home in Elberton, with Rev. Adam Denney officiating.Interment followed at Tignall Baptist Church Cemetery, with Scotty Ware, Brandon Witcher, Bo Witcher, Kason Bradley, Terry Nix, and Stacy Ware serving as pallbearers.Ryan Nolan served as an honorary pallbearer.
