Mrs. Lucy Maxine Wilder Burdette, 64, of Dewy Rose, Georgia passed away Saturday morning, January 11, 2014 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Burdette was the daughter of the late Thomas Lester and Mattie Belle Brackett Wilder.She was the widow of the late Bobby Burdette, Sr.Mrs. Burdette worked for the Athens Housing Authority and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Burdette is survived by three daughters: Lynda Booth and Amanda Howard, both of Dewy Rose, and Bridget Jones of Elberton;a son, Kenneth Bobby Burdette of Davisboro;ten grandchildren;and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind five sisters: Guyrine Bordeau of Royston, Patricia Barnes of Elberton, Vera Farrow of Anderson, Pauline Hatton of Bowman, and Shirley McCannon of Elberton.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Burdette was preceded in death by three sisters:Lucille Partain, Ruth Morrison, and Jeanette Davis;and two brothers: Bro. Charlie Wilder and Edward Dean Wilder. A service to celebrate Mrs. Burdette’s life was on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Adams officiating.Visitation was from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home on Tuesday evening.Interment followed at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
