Mrs. Melinda Sue Sell Jones, 58, of Jerry Lane, Elberton, wife of 42 years to Charlie Mack Jones, Jr., passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital.
Mrs. Jones was born in Topeka, KS on June 26, 1963, daughter of the late Lewis Sell and Gertrude Lynn Sell. She was a devoted housewife and mother. Melinda was a creative soul who enjoyed quilting, crocheting, putting together puzzles, and cooking for her family.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Charlie, include her sons: Charlie Mack Jones, III and his wife Alexandria of Elberton and Daniel Lewis Jones and his wife Rebecca of Bishop; siblings: Carol and Bill Petenitas of North Carolina, Michelle Winters of Georgia, and John Carl Sell of Texas; and step-brother, Neal Torley of Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, R. Bucky Torley; siblings: Virginia Yastic, Sharon Valdes, Brenda Brown, Michael Sell, and David Sell; brother-in-law, David Winters; and niece, Tammy Yastic.
Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 5, at 12 noon at the residence on 1720 Jerry Lane, Elberton.
