Melvin Callaway Floyd

Mr. Melvin Callaway Floyd, 71, of Ruckersville Rd., Elberton, GA husband of the late Shirley Brown Floyd passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Floyd was born June 18, 1945 in Elberton, GA to H.J. Floyd and Ruby Ray Floyd. He was a stonecutter in the granite industry. He was a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include children: Gregory Scott Floyd of Elberton, GA; Stacey Floyd York of Hartwell, GA; Jeffrey Wayne & Melissa Floyd of Dewy Rose, GA; Doug Dove of Colbert, GA; Kenneth Dove of Elberton, GA; siblings: Ellen J. Ramey, William Floyd, Virginia Brown all of Elberton, GA; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by siblings: Walter Floyd, Jr.; Dewitt Floyd; Imogene Brown; Hugh Floyd; Thelma Lunsford; Lester Floyd; Joyce Scarborough and a son Jeff Dove.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held 12PM, Saturday June 10 at his home on Ruckersville Road.
