Mildred Simpson Sanders

Mrs. Mildred Simpson Sanders, 93, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 with her family by her side at National Health Care in Anderson, South Carolina. Mrs. Sanders was born November 16, 1919 in White County, Georgia to the late Melvin and Laura Simpson. She married the love of her life Ralph Augustus Sanders on December 22, 1938 at the age of nineteen. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Sanders is survived by her children; Philip Sanders and his wife Johnnie, of Elberton, Georgia, Dan Sanders and his wife Emilyn of Greenville, South Carolina, and Patricia Ayers and her husband Kenneth of Dewy Rose, Georgia. She is also survived by a brother; Harold Simpson of Buford, Georgia; sisters: Sara Davis of Marshville, Georgia; and Carol Burton of Cartersville, Georgia, eight (8) grandchildren, twelve (12) great-grandchildren, two (2) great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Mrs. Sanders’ life was held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church, Elberton, with Reverend Troy Ayers officiating. A time of visitation was held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.Interment followed at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
