Mr. Milton Clarke Dye, 82, of Calhoun Falls Highway, Elberton, died on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. He was twice married, first to the late Alice Helen Rice Dye and second to Kathy Lorene Johnson Dye who survives.
Milton was born in Elberton on January 23, 1939, son of the late Herbert Johnson Dye, Sr. and Marion Elvera “Vera” Johnson Dye Suddeth. He worked in the granite industry and was of the Holiness faith. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed NASCAR racing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Kathy, include his sons: Clarke Dye and his wife Felicia of Elberton and Bobby Bell and his wife Tina of Bogart; grandchildren: McKenzie, Stephen, Brayden, and Elizabeth; siblings: Herbert Dye, Jr. of Abbeville, SC, Eugenia Willis of Elberton, and Elaine Goss of Douglasville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joann Dye; and siblings: Mary Jenkins and Stephen Dye.
Due to COVID-19, a private funeral services will be held in the Berry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guestbook on Monday, May 24, from 8:30a.m.-12:00p.m.
