Miriam Sorrow Brooks

Mrs. Miriam Estelle Sorrow Brooks, 84, of Miller Drive, Elberton, wife of the late Lewis Gene Brooks, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Brooks was born October 31, 1935 in Oglethorpe County, GA to Henry N. Sorrow and Mary Estelle "Mama Essie" Smith Sorrow. She was a retired insurance agent for American General and worked at Elberton Walmart.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Ed and Valerie Brooks of Elberton, GA, Mike and Ivy Brooks of Elberton, GA; sister: Nancy Sorrow Harwell of Fayetteville, GA; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by sisters: Geneva Moore, Mary Lou Harris, Annie Sorrow and brothers: Henry Taylor Sorrow, William Thomas Sorrow, Quinton Sorrow and Harvey Sorrow.

Private memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at later date. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
