Mrs. Myrtis Marisue Dillashaw Bradberry, 101, of Elberton, Georgia passed away June 1, 2014 at Spring Valley Health Care Center. Mrs. Bradberry was born in McCormick, South Carolina to the late Jacob Thomas and Effie Palmer Dillashaw. She was married to the late Rayford Lloyd Bradberry,and worked for many years as a caregiver for the elderly. Mrs. Bradberry was a member of McCormick Baptist Church.She wrote and recited poetry, and was a descendent from the French Huguenots. Mrs. Bradberry is survived by two daughters: Lura Jean Bradberry Wolford (John) of Tallahassee, FL, and Carolyn Bradberry Holloman (Thompson) of Elberton;and two grandchildren: Stephen Wolford of San Francisco, CA, and Dr. Lisa Carol Holloman of West Hollywood, CA. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bradberry was preceded in death by two sisters: Onie Dillashaw Edmonds, and Sophia Dillashaw Sprouse Sloan;and five brothers: Hugh Dillashaw, Milford Dillashaw, Porter Dillashaw, Marcus Dillashaw, and Afton Dillashaw. A service to celebrate Mrs. Bradberry’s was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 atFirst Baptist Church, Elberton, with Reverend Dr. Thompson Holloman officiating.Burial was at Melrose Cemetery in Abbeville, South Carolina.
