Mrs. Myrtle McGill Gunter, 94, of Dewy Rose, formerly of Danburg, wife of the late Will Gunter, passed away on Sunday, January 04, 2015, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Gunter was born in Lincoln County on October 4, 1920, to the late William Fred McGill and Louise Harper McGill. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a retired seamstress from Delta Apparel. Left to cherish her memories are her children and their spouses: Peggy and Gary Crook of Dewy Rose and Perry and Margaret Gunter of Washington; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Gunter. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, January 06, at 4:00p.m. in the Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Mark Crook, Efrem Gunter, Shane Gunter, Thomas Gunter, Donald Gunter, and Scott Chafin honored as pallbearers. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends in the Beulah Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2:00p.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday afternoon.
