Mrs. Nancy Hagerman Guest, 79, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. Mrs. Guest was born in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of the late Charles and Ilah Hammer Hagerman.While serving in the United States Navy, Mrs. Guest met the love of her life, Mr. John R. Guest, who was also in the Navy.They married in Great Lakes, Illinois, and celebrated over 58 years of marriage.Mrs. Guest was a nurse in the Navy, and worked later in the textile industry.She was a faithful member of Fortsonia Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, John R. Guest, Mrs. Guest is also survived by her children: Robert Guest and his wife, Christie, of Moore, SC, Doug Guest and his wife, Donna, of Toccoa, Kent Guest and his wife, Christy, of Elberton, and Katrina Ball of Cedar Bluff, AL.She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Samantha Guest, Vanessa Guest, Sabrina Guest, Charlie Guest, Brandon Reed, Daniel Ball, Austin Ball, Christopher Guest, Clay Guest, and Heather Lidh; three great-grandchildren: Abigail Lidh, Benjamin Guest, and Jackson Guest; two sisters, Helen Messinger and Judy Goos; and two brothers, Donald Hagerman and Richard Hagerman.Mrs. Guest was preceded in death by two siblings, Jerry Hagerman and Joan Hagerman. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Guest’s life was held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fortsonia Baptist Church, with Rev. Al Butler officiating.Interment followed in Fortsonia Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fortsonia Baptist Church Missions, 2616 Washington Hwy., Elberton, GA 30635. Arrangements for Mrs. Nancy Guest were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
