Nancye Carolyn Bailey Rigdon

Mrs. Nancye Carolyn “Fancy Pants” Bailey Rigdon, 77, of 266 N. Oliver Street, Elberton, wife of 39 years to Bobby Lavelle Rigdon, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2020, at her residence. She was a former resident of Clinton, Arkansas.

Nancye was born in Longview, Texas on August 28, 1943, daughter of the late Charlie Neil Bailey and Adeline James, and step-daughter of the late Luther James. She was a homemaker and had previously worked as a waitress and truck driver. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Clinton.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her children: Charla and Eric Rousey and Jimmy and Misty Blakemore, all of Elberton; step-children: Mary Elizabeth Saxon of LA, Lynn and Tony Collins of MS, Joyce Ann Crawford of Elberton, and Robbie and Carrie Millsted of LA; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Rigdon of Elberton; son-in-law, Jeff Eaves of Elberton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Eaves; brother, Charles Neil Bailey; step-son, James Lavelle Rigdon; and special friend, Chuck Carroll.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, January 6, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
