We are sharing the obituary for Nathan Moon as a courtesy to Vonda Moon and John and Cindy Moon as they celebrate the life and mourn the loss of their grandson and nephew.
Nathan Benjamin Moon of Woodstock, GA passed away on April 1, 2023 after bravely battling Neuroblastoma for the past three years.
Nathan was born on December 3, 2008 in Cumming, GA. He is the beloved son of Derek and Susan Moon of Woodstock, GA and the brother of Geoffrey and Tyler Moon. Nathan is the grandson of Vonda Moon of Elberton, GA and Anne and Eddie Stroud of Lilburn, GA. He is the nephew of John Moon (wife, Cindy) of Elberton, GA and the nephew of Catherine Barrett (husband James and son, Parker) of Lilburn, GA.
Nathan was the third child of Derek and Susan Moon. He had a close relationship with his brothers and the bond was unbreakable and undeniable as he got older and navigated his life while fighting through his illness. Nathan had a gentle spirit that found friendships with everyone and had a smile that was contagious that would light up the room. He was a loyal teammate whether on the soccer or baseball field; he had a passion for playing video games with his friends online and developed friendships with people from all over the world.
Nathan was an eighth grader at Dean Rusk Middle School (Canton) having also attended school at Hickory Flat Elementary. Teachers spoke highly of the person he was in their classroom and how he carried himself and was so positive to those around him. Nathan always knew what he wanted in life and never hesitated to let those around him know. Nathan was a blessing from God and it showed every day that he lived here on this earth.
Please join us in the celebration of his life. Those attending the celebration are encouraged to wear NathanStrong shirts if possible, or yellow/gold. Please dress comfortably.
