Nell Hackett Ricks

Nell Hackett Ricks, 68, of 860 Speedway Road, Hartwell, widow of Dorsey L. Ricks, died Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ricks was born in Franklin County, September 10, 1943, daughter of Tom Hackett of Canon and the late Deler Smith Hackett. She was retired from the textile industry and attended Price Chapel Church of God. Left to cherish her memories are her father; children, Jeffery Ricks, Nathan Ricks, Shane Ricks, Tracey Bates, all of Hartwell, and Allen Hall of South Carolina; siblings, Donald Hackett of South Carolina, Clinton Hackett of Hartwell, and Debra Slagle of Macon; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Hackett. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 3PM Sunday, October 2, at her home, 860 Speedway Road in Hartwell.
