Niles Todd Poole

Mr. Niles Todd Poole, age 73, a lifetime resident of Elbert County, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Poole was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. Mr. Poole was Fire Chief for City of Elberton for 26 years as well as a loyal employee of Hicks Funeral Home for 15 years. He was also a Master Mason.He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ella Ruth Poole and sister, Vivian Bryant. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Jo Poole; son, Jeffrey Todd Poole; daughter, Renee Johnson; grandchildren, Bridget Nunziato, Brent Todd Poole, Brianna Nicole Poole, Brittany Morgan Poole, and Alexander David Johnson; great-grandchildren, Natalie Smith and Cole Smith; brother, Walter E. Poole, Sr.; and sister, Elva Collins. Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 3PM at Northside Baptist Church with Reverend Sonny Peevy and Reverend David McConnell officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The body will lie in state from 2PM until time of service at the church. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8PM. Flowers will be accepted and those desiring to make contributions may do so to the Kid’s Fellowship c/o Northside Baptist Church.
