Noah David Derrick, 82, of Tignall, Georgia husband of Sara Bolton Derrick passed away Wednesday December 7, 2011 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Leesvile, SC December 29, 1928 to the late Michael David Derrick and Mary Elee Hamm Derrick, Mr. Derrick was a member of Independence United Methodist Church of Tignall, GA. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Exxon Corporation as a Senior Marketing Representative after 37 years, and was a member on the Wills Memorial Hospital Authority for a number of years. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Sara Bolton Derrick of the home, his children Michael Bolton Derrick of Tignall, GA, Laura Derrick Ashe of Rock Hill, SC, and Jeffrey Latimer Derrick of Mount Pleasant, SC, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held Saturday December 17, at 2PM at Independence United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Walker and Rev. Kathy Morris officiating. The family will receive friends at the home. Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren David Taylor Derrick, Mary Lauren Kennedy, Sara Ashe Bruschi, Sallie Carlisle Derrick, Michael Edward Derrick, Mary Beth Fortson Derrick, Katherine Lee Ashe, and Jeffrey Noah Derrick. The family has requested in lieu of flowers to please make memorials in his honor to the Wilkes County First Responders 105 Marshall Street, Washington, GA 30673 or to a Charity of one's choice.
