Norma Rae Cockrell Butler

Mrs. Norma Rae Cockrell Butler, 60, of Tignall, wife of Larry Butler, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Georgia Regents University in Augusta. Mrs. Butler was born in Saluda, SC on July 22, 1954, to the late Olin and Mary Boatwright Cockrell. She was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in Saluda and a homemaker. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Larry, of the home; children: Donna Rowe McKie of Augusta, Freddie Rowe of Saluda, SC, and Missey Cleveland Sweet of Piedmont, SC; step-daughter, Lara Butler Rhodes of Tignall; siblings: Annette Lollis of Greer, SC, Juanita Rearden of Greenwood, SC, Patsy Moon of Gilbert, SC, Mary Lois Rikard of Batesburg, NC, Betty Jo Pinson of Saluda, SC, Brenda McCary of Saluda, SC, and Nancy Callaham of Batesburg, SC; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Olien Price, Olin "Buddy Boy" Cockrell, and Sharon Angela "Feet Doll" Cockrell. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, June 1, at 4:00p.m. in Fishing Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
