Norman Eugene Clifton

Mr. Norman Eugene Clifton, 76, of Florahome, FL passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Malcom Randall V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Clifton was born in Neodesha, Kansas on April 12, 1936 to the Late Eugene Joseph and Opal Inez White Clifton.He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Navy, and prior to his retirement he was an electrician.Mr. Clifton has been a long-time resident of Florahome and a member of the United Methodist Church in Florahome.He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.Preceding him in death was his son, Billy Joe Clifton. Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Ann Clifton, and their children:Cheryl Norris of Front Royal, VA; Norman Eugene Clifton, Jr. (Pam) of Jacksonville, FL; and Carolyn Horn (Michael) of Keystone Heights, FL.Mr. Clifton also leaves behind his sister, Julie Beth Matherly (Montee) of Wyandotte, OK; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Florahome on Saturday, July 28, 2012.Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery in Elberton, GA on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home in Keystone Heights, FL and Hicks Funeral Home, Elberton, GA.
