Mrs. Ila Olivia Johnson Dye, 94, of Elberton passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Nancy Hart Convalescent Center. Mrs. Dye was born in Elbert County on June 4, 1918, daughter of the late Mary Frances Owens Johnson and the late William Newt Johnson.She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where she participated in the Grace Balchin Freeman UMW Circle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dye was preceded in death by her husband, Jeptha William Dye;her son, Quinn William Dye;brothers: A.B. Johnson, Donnie P. Johnson, Dozier Johnson, Wilton Johnson, Ernest Johnson, and Herman Johnson; and sisters: Laura Johnson Jones and Helen Johnson Burns. Survivors include her son, Donald Ray Dye and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Dye;three grandchildren:Paulette Dye Farley, Careyann Dye Morris, and Donald Ray Dye, Jr.;and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Dye will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Smith and Rev. Sharon Coley officiating.Visitation will be at Hicks Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service. Interment will follow in the cemetery at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 1025 Welcome Church Road, Elberton, GA 30635.
