Ozzie Jean Driver Seymour, 102, of Elberton, died peacefully on Saturday morning, November 14, 2020, with her daughter by her side.
Born in Elbert County to the late Farris Alexander Driver and Myrtice Sanders Driver on August 31, 1918, she was the last surviving member of her family of brothers and sisters: Audrey Driver, Effie Coker, Dorothy Pulliam, and Gaines Driver.
She was preceded in death by two infant children; surviving children are Joel W. (Nancy) Seymour of Elberton, Jimmy (Janice) Seymour of Oakwood, Jerry (Peggy) Seymour of Gray, and Debra Seymour of Elberton. She was grandmother to seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend, Mickie Dye.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, at 2 o’clock at Dewy Rose Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Tim Adams and Gary Purvis officiating.
Mrs. Seymour will lie in state at Berry Funeral Home on Monday, November 16, from 12:00-4:30p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. for those wishing to pay their respects and sign the guestbook.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to Deep Creek Baptist Church, where she was the oldest member.
