Pastor Waymon G. Dotson

Pastor Waymon G. Dotson, 70, of 228 Sunnyside Avenue, Elberton, husband of Jane Kelley Dotson, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, May 4, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 11, 1942, in Madison, Georgia to the late William James Dotson and Dessie Mae Pankey Dotson. He was the owner / operator of Dotson Fire Protection and founder of Believers Baptist Church where he served as Pastor for 21 years. Left to cherish his memories are his loving family; wife, Jane Kelley Dotson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Wade and Allison Dotson; Jeremy and Amanda Dotson; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Steve Gaines; Kelly and Randy Peppers, all of Elberton; brother, Glenn Dotson of Norwood, Georgia; sisters, Violet Parham of Elberton, Georgia; Ozell Moss of Madison, Georgia; Lucille Thomas of Griffin, Georgia; and thirteen grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Waymon G. Dotson, Jr.; a great-grandchild, Jack Vernon Johnson; sister, Hazel Dotson; brothers, Cecil Dotson, Bob Dotson, David Dotson and his twin infant brother. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 3PM, Tuesday May 7, 2013, at Believers Baptist Church with Pastor Wade Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Daniel Dotson, Joshua Seymour, Matthew Seymour, Andrew Gaines, Ben Gaines, Zach Gaines and Mikey Johnson serving as pallbearers and Men of Church serving as honorary pallbearers. The Dotson family is at the home, 228 Sunnyside Avenue, Elberton, Georgia and will receive friends from 2-3PM Tuesday, May 7 just prior to the service at Believers Baptist Church.
