On Sunday evening, November 3, 2024, Patricia Gail Hendrix Brady went to be with the Lord she so faithfully served. Trisha’s final days were spent in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was 76 years old, and courageously fought pancreatic cancer for four weeks.
The only child of L.G. and Alvanell Coker Hendrix, Trisha was born on May 27, 1948, in Royston, Georgia, where she grew up with a nurturing and generous heart that would define her life’s work and legacy. Having graduated from Madison County High School in 1966, she furthered her education at North Georgia Tech, where she earned a degree in cosmetology.
Trisha built a remarkable career as a beautician, working over 50 years in the beauty industry. She culminated her professional journey as the owner and operator of Patricia's Beauty Salon at Merle Norman in Royston. Her talents and skills were admired by many, but it was her warm personality that made her clients feel welcomed and cherished.
Trisha was not only dedicated to her profession but also actively engaged in her faith and church. As a devoted member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, she served faithfully in various capacities, including the Women's ministry and church choir. With a special passion for children, Trisha never missed an opportunity to teach them about Christ, whether in the toddler nursery, during AWANA on Wednesday nights, or through the primary Sunday school class. Her commitment to service also extended to the WOW group, a social circle for widows, where she offered support and companionship. She enjoyed her membership in the Royston Pilot Club and the lifelong friends it afforded her.
An avid flower gardener, Trisha found joy in nurturing beautiful blooms, often expressing her creativity through her garden. She had a keen eye for shopping, and loved the thrill of uncovering the next best deal. With a warm smile and an open heart, Trisha welcomed everyone into her life, treating all with kindness and love. Her caring personality was evident, and she always made those around her feel special and valued.
Trisha is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Larry Wayne Brady; and children: Tara (Arnold) Jaudon of Lexington, Rhonda (Bobby) Dunn of Elberton, Rene' (Mike) Turner of Elberton, and Marc (Ashley) Brady of Milledgeville. She was a devoted “Meme” to her grandchildren: Zack (Ali) Evans, the late Austin Evans, Brady (Michelle) Turner, Andy (Meagan) Turner, Corey (Chloey) Dunn, Allie (Curt) Gammon, Max Brady, Ben Brady, and Eli Brady, as well as her great-grandchildren: Braxton, Khyler, Ryleigh, Brooklynn, and Peyton.
The family is at the residence on Cromer Road and will receive friends on Tuesday evening, November 5, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church, 2335 Nickville Road, Dewy Rose.
Funeral services celebrating the remarkable life of Patricia Brady will be on Wednesday afternoon, November 6, at 2:00p.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Brendon Crowe, Terry Meeks, and Tim Adams officiating. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to Deep Creek Baptist Church Women’s Ministry, 2335 Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, GA 30634.
