Patricia Gilstrap Prince

Mrs. Patricia Louise Gilstrap Prince, 57, of Bowman Highway, Bowman, wife of 24 years to Carl Lloyd “Buddy” Prince, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Prince was born in Anderson on July 9, 1962, daughter of Edith Sue Poole Gilstrap and the late James Richard “Slim” Gilstrap. She was a homemaker and attended Lavonia Church of God.

In addition to her husband of the home and her mother of Anderson, she is survived by two daughters: Tina and Scottie Smith of Martin and Amy Shaw on Anderson; step-children: Joseph Prince of Bowman, Amanda Yearwood of Royston, Ronald Prince of California, and Kimberly and Woody Hamby of Lavonia; siblings: Jimmy, Pete, Ricky, Linda, Debra, Janet, Loretta, and Jane; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one great-grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Lisa.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Saturday, November 2. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, November 3, at 4 o’clock at Lavonia Church of God with the Revs. Adam Tripp and Josh Cash officiating.
