Pauline Ussery Gaines

Mrs. Pauline Ussery Gaines, 89, of Ruckersville Rd. Elberton, GA passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Hart Care Center.

Mrs. Gaines was born March 27, 1934 in Anderson County, SC to Charles Ussery and Ruby Burton Ussery. She was a member of Truth Tabernacle Baptist Church in Starr, SC. She attended Critens Business School in Atlanta, GA and was a banker for many years. She was also a homemaker, an avid gardner, seamstress, caregiver for children and Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her daughter Melinda Bryant of West Union, SC; brother: Bob Ussery of Fountain Inn, SC, Millie Fleming of Lyman, SC; grandson: Blane Bryant and granddaughter: Macie Bryant.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Leon Lewis Gaines and sister: Alice Phillips.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Tuesday, January 16 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Minto officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery beside her beloved Leon.

The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
