Peggy Callaway Milford, 85, of Rockledge, Florida finished her course in life on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
Mrs. Milford was born on April 9, 1935, in Elbert County to the late Gladys Cornelia Wall Callaway and Otis Henry Callaway, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick C. Milford and daughter, Lisa Allison Florence Brown.
Mrs. Milford lived and worked in Elberton for many years. She was previously employed at Elberton Savings and Loan, Elbert County Clerk of Court, Elbert County Tax Assessors Office, and Tena’s Jewelry.
After marrying Pat Milford, she made Carnesville her home. She was a member of Allen’s Methodist Church in Carnesville where she and Pat enjoyed singing in the choir.
Mrs. Milford loved her family and friends. She was the happiest when there was a crowd and good food around. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and was in her happy place when she was browsing in antique shops.
Mrs. Milford is survived by her daughter, Linda Polniak (Ray) of Cape Canaveral, Florida; son-in-law, Larry Brown of Watkinsville; stepson, Keith Milford (Allison) of Duluth; brother, Bobby Callaway (Carol) of Fayetteville, PA; and sisters: Joan Loftus of Bel Air, MD and Phyllis Lavender (Bob) of Elberton. She was lovingly known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren: Lyndsey Fleming (Rob) of Rockledge, FL, Nick Polniak of Orlando, FL, Chris Polniak (Teresa) of Nashville, TN, Taylor Brown of Watkinsville, and step-grandchildren: Alex Milford and Ben Milford of Duluth, and Nick Fleming of Winchester, KY. She was blessed with 4 great grandchildren: Tesa, Cooper, Harrison, and Lucy.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a memorial service celebrating Peggy's life will be held at a later date.
