Mrs. Margaret Jane "Peggy" Raulston Evans, 81, of Lake Forest Dr., Elberton passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Evans was born September 23, 1936 in Jasper, TN to Samuel Polk Raulston and Loice Hudson Raulston. She was a member of Elberton First United Methodist Church, Mary Freeman Sunday School Class and Chiomega Sorority at University of Tennessee. Mrs. Evans received a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.

She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law: Thomas Edward “Tom” Evans, Jr. and Valerie of Elberton, GA; William “Bill” Raulston Evans of Atlanta, GA; daughter and son-in-law: Margaret Elizabeth “Beth” Evans Tedrow and Tom of Snellville, GA; grandchildren: Thomas Edward Evans. III, Jessie Margaret Evans, Katherine Raulston Evans, Elizabeth Holland Evans and Evan Thomas Tedrow.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: Samuel Robert “Sam Bob” Raulston, William Kelly Raulston and Russell Shelton Raulston.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3PM, Monday, January 15 at Elberton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim McCullough officiating. A Celebrating of Life Reception will follow at Elberton First United Methodist Church.

Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please make memorials in Peggy’s memory to the Mary Freeman Sunday School Class at Elberton First United Methodist Church, PO Box 398 Elberton, GA 30635.
