Phyllis Mewborn Adams

Mrs. Phyllis Mewborn Adams, 91, of Elberton, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born on March 15, 1933 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the Joe Curtis Mewborn and Zelma Janie Fleming Mewborn.  Mrs. Adams was a retired Case Worker for the Georgia Department of Family & Children Services in Elberton, a member of the First Baptist Church of Elberton and the Lydia Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son: Joe M. Adams (Kay) of Hartwell; two granddaughters: Rebekah Scott (Christian) of Simpsonville SC and Madeline Cooper (Matt) of Dewy Rose GA; three great-grandchildren: Graham Scott and Xander & Layton Cooper.  Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband: Marshall A. Adams and a brother Curtis F. Mewborn Sr.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral and Committal services for Mrs. Phyllis Adams will be Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Burial will follow the committal service in the Dewy Rose Baptist Church Cemetery.
