Mr. Radford Maxwell Glenn, age 83, of Lake Forest Drive, Elberton, husband of 60 years to Mary Saxon Glenn, finished his course in faith on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice of Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Glenn was born in Oglethorpe County on August 31, 1931, to the late Walter and Quilla Glenn. He was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School. Radford began his career in banking at C & S Bank in Athens where he worked for twelve years, and retired as Vice President of First National Bank in Elberton where he worked for thirty-one years. He also served his community as a funeral assistant at Hicks Funeral Home in Elberton for many years. Mr. Glenn was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elberton and the Mary Freeman Sunday School Class. In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his sons and their wives: Max and Wendy Glenn and Bruce and Julie Glenn; four grandchildren: Kathryn Glenn, Ashley Glenn, Meredith Glenn, and Logan Glenn; sister-in-law, Sally Hozey and her husband James; two nieces: Allison Deal and her husband Sam and Anne Gladden and her husband Eric; two great-nieces and two great-nephews. Graveside memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 7, at 3:00p.m. in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Watson officiating. The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Thursday afternoon at Berry Funeral Home from 1:30-2:45p.m. prior to the service.
