Rebecca Martin Bond

Mrs. Rebecca Martin Bond, 101, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, Georgia. Mrs. Bond was the daughter of the late George Washington Martin and Amanda Jane Ashworth Martin.She was married to the late Jack Bond.Mrs. Bond retired as a seamstress,and was a member of Elberton First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bond is survived by one son, Curtis B. Bond and his wife, Shirley, of Dallas, GA;6 grandchildren:Robin Bond, Lisa Byars (Tim), Christina Brophy (Greg), Mike Bond,Margaret Bond (wife of the late Steve Bond), Lauren Royston (Ronnie), and David Bond;and 5 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas R. Bond;a grandson, Steve Bond;2 brothers, Tom Martin and Bill Martin;and 3 sisters: Daisy Herring, Mamie Crenshaw, and Janie Anderson. A service to celebrate Mrs. Bond’s life was held Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev.
