Rhonda Scarborough McCannon

Mrs. Rhonda Scarborough McCannon, 53, of Elberton passed away Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. McCannon was the daughter of Kenneth J and Phyllis L. Tate Scarborough.She was preceded in death by her grandparents.Rhonda was a member of Forest Hills Assembly of God, where she found great joy in serving God.She enjoyed singing and painting.She loved children and did childcare for 23 years.She also worked as a secretary for Martin Fireproofing and for Group Underwriters. Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Troy McCannon; son, Justin McCannon, of Athens; parents, Kenneth & Phyllis Scarborough, of Elberton; Sister and Brother-in-law, Jackie and David Mattox, of Elberton; Mother-in-law, Shirley McCannon, of Elberton; and other relatives. Funeral services were held on Thursday at 1:00pm in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Rev. Ann Reynolds and Rev. Bill Jones officiating.Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park.The family received friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
