Richard Eugene Brown

Richard Eugene Brown, 66, of Pickens Point Drive, Rock Branch Community, Elberton, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Brown was born in Anniston, Alabama, March 22, 1947, to the late Carlton Allen Brown, Jr. and Nita Jane Turner Brown and was reared by his grandparents, the late Archie A. and Sattie Hill Turner. He was retired from Turner Concrete, was a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church, and was a devoted volunteer for American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Elberton as long as his health permitted. Left to cherish his memories are two sons, Ben Brown and his wife Brenda and Nick Brown, both of Elberton; grandchildren, Tyler Shaw, Kennedy Brown, and Matthew Brown; great-granddaughter, Adalynn Shaw; and several other relatives and friends. Memorial services celebrating his life will be held Saturday, June 1, at 2:00p.m. in the Rock Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Wright officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in church Family Life Center.
