Mr. Richard Fielding “Dick” Garrett, Sr., 84, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Garrett was born in Washington, Georgia, son of the late Thomas Pinkston Garrett, Sr. and Mary Antoinette Dillard Garrett.He was the husband of Loretta J. Dewitt Garrett. In addition to his wife, Mr. Garrett is survived by a son, Richard F. Garrett, Jr. of Elberton; grandchildren, Travis Z. Garrett and Heather R. Irvan, of Tampa, FL;and three great-grandchildren, Suzanna R. Garrett, Kourtney R. Garrett, and Hailey L. Irvan, all of Tampa, FL. A service to celebrate Mr. Garrett’s life was held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Martin and Bro. Barry Dye officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends was at 10:00 a.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed at Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons at P.O.
