Rita Ray Hand

Mrs. Rita Lynn Ray Hand, 71, of Hampton, GA passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

An Elberton, GA native, she was the daughter of the late Roy Bert Ray and Johnnie Smith Ray, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Delano Hand. She was a graduate of Elbert County High School and retired from United Way as an Office Manager. Rita enjoyed photography, genealogy, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Adam and wife Kellie Hand; daughter, Katherine and husband Joseph Barachina; grandchildren: Ashlie Hand, Nicole Hand, Taylor Harris, and Jason Barachina; siblings: Judy Hudson, Jerry Ray, and Charles Ray; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 28, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Inurnment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, 2580 Highway 42 N, McDonough, GA on Thursday, April 26, from 2:00-4:00p.m. & 6:00-8:00p.m. and at Berry Funeral Home, 1265 Washington Highway, Elberton GA on Friday, April 27, from 6:00-8:00p.m.
