Robert Elgin Durham

Mr. Robert Elgin Durham, 84, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017.A native of Cedartown, Georgia, he was the son of the late Robert Woodrow and Clessie Hopkins Durham. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Willene Lovinggood Durham and a brother, Jerry Wayne Durham.Mr. Durham retired from AT&T as an Installation Supervisor. The family received friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. which was followed by a Celebration Service in the chapel at 8:00pm with Mr. John Kennedy officiating. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Faye Thomas Durham, of Athens, TN; children, Robert Dewitt Durham (Marsha), of Elberton, James Earl Durham (Amy) of Hartwell, Ann Owens, of Richmond, VA, and Allen Davis (Mindy) of Statesboro, GA; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Durham and Cathy Riley, both of Macon, GA. Interment was Saturday morning at 11:00am in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, Ga.
