Robert Lee Holland

Robert "R.L." Lee Holland, 83, of 2274 Washington Highway, Elberton husband of Martha Louise King Holland passed away Monday April 18, 2011. Born in Elbert County April 25, 1927 he was a son of the late Elizabeth Slay Holland. He was a member of Eliam United Methodist Church and was retired from the granite industry after 27 years of service. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Martha Louise King Holland; sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Felicity Holland and Ricky and Tammy Holland; sister Mary Johnson; and grandchildren Brad Holland, Reid Holland, Sara Holland, Katie Holland, and Kelly and Chris Dickens all of Elberton, GA. He was preceded in death by a sister Frances Grimes and a brother George Holland. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 4:30PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. J. Wesley Privett officiating. Burial will follow in the Fortsonia Community Cemetery. The family will be at the home 2274 Washington Highway and will receive friends from 3:30-4:30 PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include David Mattox, Tim Huff, Alan "Pete" Higginbotham, Steve Higginbotham, Jeff Algood, and William Wellmaker. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in his honor to Elaim United Methodist Church 2130 Dr. George Ward Road Elberton, GA 30635.
