Robert âWimpyâ Stephen Haworth, 70, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011, while in hospice care at Browns Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, GA. Born in Sullivan County, TN on December 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Cecil King Haworth II and Elsie Mae Fenner Haworth. Robert served in the U.S. Army as a transportation specialist and spent over 40 years working in the commercial trucking industry in Virginia and Georgia. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Emily Gresham of Carnesville, GA; daughter, Tracey L. Haworth-Cote and husband Andre of Chugiak, AK; stepson, Trenton Terry of Abingdon, VA; three stepdaughters : Regina Manley of Carnesville, GA; Tammy Smith and husband Richard of Westminster, SC; Jamie Shelton and husband Brad of Royston, GA; five brothers: William âBillâ Haworth and wife Nancy of Abingdon, VA; Larry Haworth and wife Peggy of Abingdon, VA```; Thomas âTomâ Haworth and wife Linda of Asheville, NC; Donald Haworth and wife Mary of Kingsport, TN; and Cecil K. âBudâ Haworth III and wife Barbara of Abingdon, VA; three sisters: Patsy Haworth of Abingdon, VA; Judy Stubbs of Conway, SC; and Mary Rawson of Pikesville, NC; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by two sisters: Linda Marie Cross and Louise Haworth. A memorial service with military honors will be conducted for Robert Haworth at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN, with the Rev. Keith Cobb officiating. His official interment to the National Cemetery will follow the service. The family will gather after the service to receive friends beginning at 3:30 pm, at the Cleveland Community Center, 18003 Cleveland Church Road, Abingdon, VA 24211. Berry Funeral Home & Crematory, Elberton, is respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Robert "Wimpy" Stephen Haworth.
