Robert Waite Farmer, Sr., 94, of 183 Springdale Drive, Elberton, widower of Pearl Rampey Farmer, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. Farmer was born in Elbert County, July 7, 1916, son of the late James C. and Arlie Ray Farmer. He was the owner and operator of Farmer Auto Sales, a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church where he was a Elder and Charter Member, a member of the Elberton Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25, and a U.S. Army Veteran. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James C. "Jimmy" and Jane Farmer of Elberton, two grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. "Bob" Jr. and Marion Anne Herndon Farmer; and two brothers, James R. and Jack D. Farmer. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be at 2PM Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Calvary Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bill Quarles officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 7-9PM Monday night at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Cecil Smith, Tommy Fields, Aaron Fields, and James R. Farmer. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the Calvary Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 517 Elberton, GA 30635.
