Rodney Dean "Red" West

Mr. Rodney Dean “Red” West, 57, of Martin Villa Road, Elberton, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at his residence following a battle with cancer.

Rodney was born in Bangor, Maine on December 13, 1963, son of the late Alton Starling “Buck” West, Sr. and Cora Mercerdese Hammock West. He worked as a diesel technician for most of his life, and was very talented with his work. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially spending time on his boat at the lake, and most importantly loved being “Dad” and “Pop”

Survivors include his spouse, Lynda Lea Byrd West; children and their spouses: Joshua West and Melissa of Bowman and Alana West Hicks and Christopher of Carnesville; grandson, Brantley Dean West; siblings: Mike West, Steve West, Ardie West, Jerry West, and Judy Chandler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Ann, Cheryl, and Alton "Goatman" West, Jr.

A visitation celebrating Rodney’s life will be held on Friday, December 3, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.
