Roger Wayne Grimes

Mr. Roger Wayne Grimes, 54, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Grimes was born in Elberton, son of the late Carl J. and Betty Catherine Walling Grimes.He worked in the granite industry as a stonecutter. Mr. Grimes is survived by a sister, Kathy Haynes of Hartwell;two brothers: Joe Grimes (Debbie) and Felix Grimes (Jena), all of Elberton.He also leaves behind seven nephews and nieces: Jason and T.J. Haynes, Tiffany Grimes, Andrea Smith, Justin Grimes, Stanley Hammond, and Taylor Hammond;and 13 great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by two nieces, Summer Grimes and Shonda Hammond. A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home.A service to celebrate Mr. Grimes’ life followed at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
