Roger Dale Stratton

Mr. Roger Dale Stratton, 71, of Elberton, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Elberton Memorial Hospital.A native of Elberton, he was the son of the late Frank Jefferson Stratton, Jr. and the late Jacquelyn Gaines Stratton.Mr. Stratton was a truck driver in the granite industry, having worked for Everlasting Granite Company, from which he retired in 2005.He loved sports, especially baseball, as well as the outdoors and the farm.He would always enjoy a cool and refreshing Diet Coke. Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Stratton, of Elberton; a son, Chad Stratton and his wife, Emilia, of Sanford, Florida; grandchildren, Brady Johnson, Abbey Johnson, Hailee Stratton and Emma Stratton; brother, Jeff Stratton and his wife, Wanda; friend and Mother of his children, Freda Stratton; nieces, Torri Stratton and Whitley Bellew (Justin); and other extended family.He loved spending time with his grandchildren. The family wishes to extend special thanks to his caregiver, Angela Turman. A graveside memorial service was held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in Elmhurst Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Martin officiating. The family received friends at the home at 408 Elm St. on Wednesday and Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Francis Asbury UMC, 1016 Ruckersville Rd.
