Ronald Claybourn Ouzts, 72, of 2000 Athens Highway in Elberton passed away June 22, 2007, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens. A native of Elbert County, he was a son of the late Arthur Boyd Outz Jr. and Edna Anderson Outz. He was of the Baptist faith, was a member of Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25 and was a Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the Samuel Elbert Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the granite industry. Left to cherish his memories include his wife, Annie Kirby Ouzts of the home; two sons, Daniel Ouzts of Elberton and Dr. Clay Ouzts of Winder; a sister, Barbara O. Rhodes of Elberton; a brother, Arthur Boyd Outz III of Lavonia; and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Monday, June 25, 2007 at 2PM at Doves Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Marshall Tribble and Reverend John Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Doves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with John Mell Pitts, Tony Adams, Brannie Adams, Mike Brown, Mark Brown and G.C. Glenn serving as pallbearers and Asbury Dunn, Ken Huffacker, Lawrence Cecchini, Johnny Dye, John Campbell, Lanier Anderson, Pete Anderson and Mike Morvek will serve as honorary pallbearers. The Ouzts family will be at the home of Daniel Ouzts 1335 Grady Cleveland Road, Elberton and will receive friends from 7-9PM Sunday night at Berry Funeral Home. Berry Funeral Home, Elberton is respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Ronald Claybourn Ouzts.
