Roy Cornelus "Ronnie" Scales, 61, of 437 Elm Street, Elberton, passed away Sunday morning, September 25, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Scales was born in Elbert County, August 25, 1950, son of Addie Lou Pace Scales and the late Robert J. "Bobby" Scales. He was of the Pentecostal faith, a salesman and top polisher in the granite industry, and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Sandi Scales of Elberton; mother, Addie Lou Pace Scales of Elberton; sister, Teresa S. Bryant of Elberton; brother, Larry Scales of Elberton; and granddaughter, Reese Hutchinson. Mr. Scales' wishes were to be cremated, and memorial services will be held at 6PM Tuesday, September 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Tony Moon and Jimmy Bryan officiating. The family is at the home of his mother, Addie Lou Pace Scales, 2100 Anderson Highway, Elberton and will receive friends from 5-6PM Tuesday, at Berry Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will include Terry Mincey, Tony Mills, Mike Lunceford, Noel Ellis, Shane Souther, and Dwayne McGee. The family respectfully requests no flowers, and memorials may be made in his honor to the VFW Children's Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.berryfh.com.
