Roy Valentine Suttles, 86, of 2265 Suttles Road, Elberton, husband of Joyce Ann Tate Suttles and the late Dorothy Suttles, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. Suttles was born in South Carolina, July 25, 1926, to the late George Dorsey Suttles and Lizzie T. Clamp Suttles. He was a self-employed plumber, a U.S. Navy Veteran, of the Baptist faith, and attended Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joyce Suttles; children, Ronnie Suttles, Diane Partain, Brenda Craft, Roger Suttles, Neal Fleming, Michael Scarborough, Sonya Corder, and Sandy Scarborough; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by daughter, Robin Anne Suttles and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 2:00PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Phillip Hart and Ann Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with David Suttles, Chris Suttles, Ricky Suttles, Charlie "Pedro" Partain, Jr., Brandon Scarborough, and Shane Scarborough serving as pallbearers. The family is at the residence, 2265 Suttles Road, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00PM Monday evening. Flowers will be accepted.
