Ruby Mae Bannister Haygood

Ruby Mae Bannister Haygood, 88, of Petersburg Towers, Elberton, GA passed away Thursday morning, October 4, 2012 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Haygood was born August 12, 1924 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Ben Thornton.She was twice married, first to the late Hugh Dorsey Bannister, and second to the late Lam Haygood. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Caron Bannister and Fleet Bannister. Mrs. Haygood is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Wayne House;grandsons, Kenneth House (Ashley) and Chad House; and a great-grandson, Kason Parker House.She also leaves behind step-children and their spouses: Steve Sanders (Patsy), Ray Haygood (Barbara), and Jimmy Haygood (Minnie);a sister, Marion Scales; and dear friend, Fan Johnson. A service to celebrate Mrs. Haygood’s life was held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home.Rev. Richard Fife officiated. A time of visitation for family and friends was Saturday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment was at Elmhurst Cemetery.
