Russell Lee Johnson

Mr. Russell Lee Johnson, 88, of Deep Creek Rd., Dewy Rose, GA passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Johnson was born on April 21, 1930 in Ocilla, GA to Henry Lee Johnson and Fannie Mae Nash Johnson. He was a member of Stinchcomb United Methodist Church, a monumental draftsman since the age of 17 and served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his children: Kenneth Johnson of Hartwell, GA, Kathy Alexander of Hartwell, GA, Lisa and Charles Worley of Elberton, GA, Jeff and Julie Johnson of Ringgold, GA, and Lauren and Russ Harris of Dewy Rose, GA; brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Ann Johnson of Elberton, GA; grandchildren: Marc Johnson, Tiffany Kennedy, Brent Alexander, Christina House, Brittany Wilkes, Samantha Cornell, Cale Worley, Caroline Johnson, Branson Harris, Camden Harris; fifthteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Jane Purcell Johnson, sister: Grace Wylene Johnson, grandsons: Curtis Johnson and Kevin Alexander; and a great-granddaughter: Crystal Johnson.

Funeral services to celebrate Russell’s life will be held 2PM, Monday, November 26, 2018 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Stinchcomb United Methodist Church Cemetery with Marc Johnson, Cody Johnson, Brent Alexander, Karson Blackmon, Tyler Blackmon, Branson Harris, Camden Harris, CJ Tate, Trent Wilkes, Michael Cornell and Chad House serving as pallbearers. The family is at the home, 1792 Deep Creek Rd. Dewy Rose, GA will receive friends from 1-2PM Monday just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
